What is included in the registration fee?

The registration fee includes:

  • Access to all scientific sessions and presentations
  • Conference materials and abstract book
  • Coffee breaks and lunches during the conference days
  • Welcome reception on September 21st
  • Conference dinner
  • Certificate of attendance

What are the registration fees?

Early Bird (until August 15, 2026):

  • Academic: €380
  • Student/PhD: €300
  • Industry: €500

Regular (August 16 - September 10, 2026):

  • Academic: €450
  • Student/PhD: €350
  • Industry: €600

Can I register on-site?

On-site registration is available but strongly discouraged as it may be limited. An additional €50 fee applies for on-site registration. We recommend registering online before September 10th to guarantee your spot and receive the best rate.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations are accepted with the following refund policy:

  • Before July 1, 2026: Full refund minus 50€ processing fee)
  • August 15, 2026: 50% refund
  • After September 1, 2026: No refund possible

Do you offer student discounts?

Yes! Students and PhD candidates receive a significantly reduced registration fee. You must provide proof of student status (valid student ID or letter from supervisor) during registration.

📄 Abstract Submission

What format should my abstract be in?

Abstracts must follow our official template available on the Submit Abstract page. The abstract should be:

  • Include title, authors, affiliations
  • Submitted as DOCX file
  • Maximum file size: 5 MB

Can I submit multiple abstracts?

Yes, you may submit multiple abstracts. However, please note that each presenting author can give a maximum of one oral presentation. Additional accepted abstracts may be assigned as poster presentations.

How will I know if my abstract is accepted?

All submitters will receive an email notification by July 31, 2026. Accepted abstracts will include information about whether you've been selected for an oral or poster presentation.

🎤 Presentations

How long are oral presentations?

Oral presentations are allocated 25 minutes plus 5 minutes discussion

What equipment is available for presentations?

All presentation rooms are equipped with:

  • LCD projector and screen
  • Laptop with PowerPoint and PDF viewers (Windows)
  • Pointer and microphone
  • HDMI connection (bring your own adapter if needed)

Important: Please upload your presentation to the session chair at least 30 minutes before your session begins.

What are the poster requirements?

Posters should be:

  • Size: A0 portrait orientation (84.1 cm × 118.9 cm)
  • Format: Printed (no digital posters)
  • Clearly readable from 1.5 meters distance
  • Include title, authors, affiliations, and acknowledgments

Poster boards and mounting materials will be provided. Posters should be displayed for the entire conference duration.

Can I use my own laptop for my presentation?

While we provide laptops, you may use your own if preferred. Please test your connection with the technical staff before your session. We strongly recommend having a backup copy on a USB drive.

Will presentations be recorded?

Selected keynote presentations may be recorded with speaker permission. Regular oral presentations will not be recorded. Photography during sessions is allowed unless explicitly prohibited by the speaker.

Where exactly is the conference being held?

The conference takes place at the University of Bremen,Chemistry Building - Leobener Straße 7, 28359 Bremen, Germany. Specific room assignments will be provided in the final program. See our Travel & Accommodation page for detailed directions.

How do I get from the airport to the university?

From Bremen Airport: Take Tram Line 6 directly to the university (15 minutes).

From Hamburg Airport: Take the train to Bremen Hauptbahnhof (1 hour), then Tram 6 or 8 to the university (15 minutes).

Is parking available at the university?

Limited parking is available on campus. We recommend using public transportation, as Bremen has excellent tram connections. A day pass costs €8.60 and provides unlimited travel within the city.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the University of Bremen is fully wheelchair accessible. All conference rooms, restrooms, and dining areas are accessible. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us at halchem@uni-bremen.de so we can ensure appropriate arrangements.

Are there recommended hotels near the venue?

Yes! We have negotiated special conference rates with several hotels. See our complete list with booking codes on the Travel & Accommodation page. Book early as rooms fill up quickly!

ℹ️ General Information

Will there be WiFi at the conference?

Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the conference venue. Network credentials will be provided in your registration packet.

Can I bring a guest who is not attending the conference?

Guests may attend the conference dinner for an additional fee of €75 per person (must be purchased by September 10). Guests cannot attend scientific sessions unless they register for the conference.

What about dietary requirements?

We cater to vegetarian, vegan, and common dietary restrictions. Please indicate your requirements during registration. If you have specific allergies, contact us at halchem@uni-bremen.de for special arrangements.

Can I get a certificate of attendance?

Yes, all registered participants will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the conference. Certificates can also be emailed upon request after the event.
